Paper Mache Good Dogs

Canine Culture

While sniffing about the inter-webs for dog related art I came across something different. Back in 2013, Brooklyn artist Will Kurtz did a solo exhibit at the Mike Weiss Gallery in New York City.

Constructed of unlikely materials such as newspaper, glue, wire & wood, there are more than 20 dogs of every breed, size & color, each rendered more expressively than the next.

Check out this wooftastic exhibit.

Artist Ande Hall

Canine Culture

Today I want to share artwork by artist Ande Hall. She became a painter after a career in veterinary medicine. Now a full time artist, Ande works primarily with oil pastel, & acrylic mixed media but she also incorporates fabric into her art. Ande donates 5% of her art income to IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature), which is the world’s oldest wildlife conservation organization.

Naturally, I was drawn to her paintings of dogs. I think you’ll see why.

Artist Leslie Moore

Canine Culture

My goodness you humans are creative. You have so many ways of creating art. Today we are looking at the works of artist Leslie Moore. She works in pen & ink, & is also a relief print maker. She has always loved animals & has been drawing them since she was just a child.

Have a wooftastic weekend.
